Please join us  for what will no doubt be a great women’s fly fishing school!  Jean Williams Bruun will be leading the course. Orvis Store Manager and RWFFA Guide School graduate Maggie Jordan Heumann will be your host Friday night for wine and chat! 

Saturday morning starts our RWFFA Women’s Fly Fishing course. The day is filled with laughter as you learn knots, casting and “how to shop in a fly fishing store!” You will leave knowing how to pack for the days fishing. 

Sunday will be on the water putting those skills to work. Award Ceremonies! You will leave an independent angler. 

Look out. Fly fishing is addicting!

June 28.  8:30 – Fish! 

(Optional guided day fishing on June 29th. One or two anglers. $620)

Reel Women Fly Fishing Adventures School

2 Day Program 

Our goal is to introduce you to what you will encounter in the world of fly fishing. We stress confidence in the outdoors and using your power of observation. You will learn from accomplished casting instructors the basics of a good cast as well as advanced casting techniques.

Learn the basics or get rid of bad habits. This school will work for beginners and experienced anglers. All schools include two day instruction, rod fees, written material, lunch and equipment.

We teach knots, equipment, entomology, how to read water and think like a fish! Our objective is to make you an independent angler or the angler you want to be.

Our Classroom – waters that hold dreams. 

Day One
8:30 am
Students and instructors meet at Orvis Jackson Hole
9:00 am
Introductions and light breakfast.
Casting on lawn.
Basic Cast.  Roll Cast, and how to shoot line.
Learn basic fly fishing knots.
Entomology – all about bugs and more…
Picnic lunch.
Afternoon casting and clinics  include:
Teaching fly casting.  Advanced casting – double haul and reach mends.
Basics of getting started: How to choose the right equipment for the outdoor experience and the perfect rod and reel for the  type of fishing you want to pursue.
How to fight and land a fish!
Wrap for the day.

Day Two
8:30 am

Head out to fish!
We will fish a local pond filled with big cutthroat trout.
Practice skills, have fun! fishing (Idaho) license.
Reel Women Guides will hold clinics on dry fly
presentation, how to fish a nymph and streamer
Return demonstration.
Picnic lunch.
We will hunt for rising fish and practice our new skills
casting and fishing!
We will end with a discussion on fishing ethics and the
proper attitude!
