Our mission is to ignite women who have a passion for fly-fishing and provide adventures to realize their limitless potential.
We truly love sharing our fly fishing world through trips, classes and clinics; and helping others make new life-long friendships through Reel Women Fly-Fishing Adventures.
Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or life-long angler, we offer world class adventures and the ability to enhance your skill set.
We’ve been honored to develop fly fishing trips over 30 years that clients return to time and again. Our most popular fly fishing trips include Permit Quest and the Madison River. These sell out fast to both returning clients and new friends. We’re also honored to say that we keep growing and offering new programs and trips.
The RWFFA Back to Basics classes give you the chance to really focus on techniques and personal growth through individual instruction. We always offer low client to instructor ratios and focus on your specific questions and needs. Watching the growth in you is our pleasure and passion.
Custom Trips and casting clinics are available for those that want to create a dream trip with their friends! We do more and more of this each year – your river, your timeline, your group.
Whatever part of Reel Women Fly-Fishing Adventures (RWFFA) you choose, you will be inspired to “Cast to Your Dreams”. We’ve appreciated many letters and stories over the years from clients who heard the message. They went home to grow in their fly fishing, but also many other parts of their lives. Be it personal relationships, careers or major life changes, a fly fishing experience with RWFFA will open your heart and soul to follow your path!
History of Reel Women Fly-Fishing Adventures
The RWFFA Story ~
Reel Women Fly Fishing Adventures was co-founded in 1992 by Lori-Ann Murphy alongside a group of extraordinary women who were becoming guides and forging their own paths in a male-dominated industry. Surrounded by an exceptional women-led team, what began as a shared love of fly fishing and adventure quickly grew into something more—a community built on mentorship, skill-building, and the belief that women deserved world-class experiences on the water.
That same year, Lori-Ann founded the Orvis Women’s Fly Fishing School, helping create one of the first formal learning environments designed specifically for women. These early programs laid the foundation for what RWFFA would become: a place where women could ask questions freely, build confidence, and step fully into their potential.
The vision was simple but powerful: to create exceptional fly fishing adventures for women, while offering a safe, supportive space to learn, grow, and connect with others who shared the same passion.
In 1990, Lori-Ann became the first woman to be named an Orvis Endorsed Guide, breaking new ground in the industry and helping pave the way for generations of women anglers and professionals.
In 1998, she launched the world’s first Women’s Fly Fishing Guide School, opening doors for women to enter the industry professionally. Graduates have gone on to start their own businesses, write books, and become leaders in organizations like Casting for Recovery.
In 2009, Lori-Ann moved to San Pedro, Belize, where she has worked as a saltwater flats guide and is now the owner and operator of Reel Belize Fly Shop & Guide Service. From here, she continues to lead RWFFA adventures throughout the waters of Ambergris Caye and beyond.
In 2015, Orvis honored Lori-Ann Murphy and Reel Women Fly Fishing Adventures with their Breaking Barriers Award, recognizing her decades of work advancing women in fly fishing.
“A trip with Reel Women Fly Fishing Adventures is about a world class fly-fishing experience. We are here as a resource and for your planning. We love what we do and sharing what we know is our highest honor”. — LA
